Review by Michael Debbage
The classically trained pianist from Germany has been creating music for several decades. A good portion of his recordings are well represented by Real Music dating back to 1998 with a total of six recordings with the label. While there have been other recordings predating 1998, Touched By Love is an effort to give you good overview of those six Real Music records.

While Touched By Love does not feature 3 or 4 of his releases that are outside of the Real Music projects his no edge piano work is certainly the focal point. Though it is not a comprehensive best of it does feature 2 new recordings courtesy of “Memories Of Cherry Tree” and “Hope”. They are both consistent with his inconspicuous, pastoral and uncluttered nature of his no edge music.

Whether or not the above 2 songs will be enough to entice Koch fans to make this purchase, though not a comprehensive overview of all his musical recordings, those not familiar with his music will still find this a great place to start. If you’re looking to escape then Koch’s uncomplicated soundscapes found here is your perfect getaway.
