Review by Kathy Parsons
The Philip Wesley Solo Piano Collection, Volume 5 is the fifth is a series of compilation sheet music books featuring music from Wesley’s various albums. This volume features music from Hope Endures (5), Comfort and Joy (3), In a Lifetime (1), and Finding Solace (2). All of these books are spiral bound and printed on a medium-weight bright white paper stock. All five books feature full-color covers, front and back. This book contains several public domain songs that are familiar to most people, which could make it more attractive to piano students. The music is not difficult to play, yet it has a full sound and is very expressive. Some of the pieces have phrasing and pedaling suggestions - all have metronome settings and dynamics. For more advanced fans of Philip Wesley’s music, this is a very enjoyable book to just sit down and play. The book also includes a short bio and a discography of Philip’s albums. Philip Wesley’s sheet music and songbooks are currently available exclusively from www.PhilipWesley.com. Recommended!
