Review by Kathy Parsons
"Path of the Sandpiper" is the companion sheet music for pianist/composer Suzanne Herman's 2022 single by the same name. A longtime piano teacher with a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Bowling Green State University, Suzanne does her own sheet music transcriptions (I proof-read this one). Very suitable for advancing students as well as for pure musical enjoyment, Suzanne has included fingering wherever it is particularly helpful, with close attention to other details as well. This piece is not difficult and I would place it at a late-intermediate playing level. Gentle with a subtle energy, the piece is in the key of G (1 sharp) and five pages in length. Dynamics and tempo changes are easy to follow and there are no stretches of more than an octave. Expressive and fun to play, this is music that should appeal to all age groups.

"Path of the Sandpiper" is available to download from Suzanne Herman's website. The single is also reviewed here on MainlyPiano.com. Enjoy!
