Seashells In My Pocket is the companion sheet music book for Pam Asberry’s debut recording by the same name. All thirteen piano solos are included, transcribed by the artist herself. The book is spiral-bound and printed on a medium-weight paper stock. The transcriptions are well-spaced and easy to read. Most of the pieces are played at a relaxed tempo and most are at a later-intermediate playing level, making this music quite accessible to a broad range of pianists. Ms Asberry has been a sought-after piano teacher for many years, and I would think that quite a few of these pieces would be excellent recital repertoire. The music is melodic and was inspired by travels around the world - many have an ocean or beach theme. They would be excellent material for teaching students to tell a descriptive story or to create a musical picture with their playing. At the front of the book, there is a page of notes about the music - the places and settings that inspired each of the pieces. The front and back covers of the book are beautiful enlargements of the front and back covers of the CD. I thoroughly enjoyed playing through this book and look forward to getting back to some of my favorites. The songbook is currently available exclusively from
