Classical Solo Piano Concert
July 14, 2019
3pm
$20 suggested at the door
Dr. Frank Huang is a concert pianist and an Associate Professor of Piano at Miami University in Oxford, OH and will be performing a classical solo piano concert in the home of Kathy Parsons in Sandpines West (Florence, OR) on Sunday, July 14 at 3:00 PM. Originally from Seattle, WA, Dr. Huang will be performing an exciting and varied program of works by Franz Schubert, Nikolai Medtner and Frederic Rzewski. It is an interesting coincidence that Frank worked on his Doctorate degree with Antonio Pompa-Baldi at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Mr. Pompa-Baldi has performed at the Florence Event Center a couple of times.

Frank Huang started taking piano lessons at the age of five and was competing at an international level by the age of 11. He has released solo piano albums of the works of Johannes Brahms and contemporary composer Jack Gallagher. More recently, he released a collection of piano/violin duets of works by women composers. He is currently working on a 9-volume set of recordings of the solo piano works of Nikolai Medtner, a contemporary of Sergei Rachmaninoff. There is a new interview with Frank Huang at https://mainlypiano.com/interviews/frank-huang-2019-june.

There is a suggested donation of $20 at the door. All donations go to the artist. Reservations are required and can be made by emailing Kathy Parsons at kathypiano@gmail.com. The address and directions will be given when reservations are made.
