Review by Kathy Parsons
Bernward Koch's "An Old Fairy Tale" is the sixth track of the myndstream Fall Flight collection of six pieces by six different artists from all over the world. One of the prominent artists on the Real Music label, Koch is known internationally as a composer of beautiful music for keyboard and piano. I have been reviewing Bernward's music for a lot of years and he has become one of my favorite artists. Germany is known for its many old castles, and I would think they would often inspire thoughts (as well as music!) about the magic of old fairy tales. Koch's piece includes piano, ambient synth washes and delicate bells that bring images of a tiny fairy touching flowers with her magic wand and creating dancing sparkles (yeah, I probably watched too much Disney as a kid!). Melancholy, dreamy and overflowing with longing, it's a beauty!

"An Old Fairy Tale" and the other five tracks from the myndstream Fall Flight are available from myndstream.com, Amazon, Apple/iTunes and streaming sites like Spotify.
