"Ascending Moon" is the second single I've reviewed from pianist/composer Brian Kelly's upcoming fifth album. If the two singles are any indication, that album is going to be incredible! The first single, "Wings Over Water" has already won several awards including “Best Classical Song” and “Best Classical Songwriter” at the 2021 Indie Music Channel Awards (Brian’s sixth award from them) as well as a Silver Medal at the 2021 Global Music Awards (Brian’s sixth Silver Medal from them). I wouldn't expect any less from "Ascending Moon," a buoyant, shimmering and very dramatic piano solo that clearly demonstrates Brian's magical and very expressive touch on the piano keys. Contemporary classical in styling, anyone who loves beautiful piano music should check this one out! I can't wait to hear it live when Brian plays in my house concert series in 2022!
