Review by Kathy Parsons
"Contemplation From a Distance" is the fourth single release from the upcoming album, Works For Solo Piano with music composed by Eric Chapelle and performed by Michelle Schumann. Very quiet, spare and impressionistic, the piece soothes and relaxes both the mind and body, wrapping the listener in a soft cloud of beautiful sounds. Recorded on an exceptional Steinway concert grand (Model D), I quote Chapelle: "This recording of 'Contemplation from a Distance' shows the beautiful overtones that this Steinway can do! It inspires me to write for it and with Michelle in mind." It's fascinating how sometimes an instrument seems holding music within itself that is just waiting to be "downloaded" and committed to paper and/or a recording device. That seems to have been the case with this gorgeous piece and Michelle Schumann's graceful, elegant touch is perfect for expressing the peaceful nature of the music. I can't wait to hear the full album!

Officially titled Works For Solo Piano: Contemplation From a Distance, the single is available from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and streaming sites like Spotify. Don't miss this one! Sheet music is also available.
