Review by Kathy Parsons
“Follow” is the first solo release by Falnoa, a project by Danish composer, producer and vocalist Ann Falden. A lifelong musician, Ann performed in opera and musicals in her early years, moved on to TV jingles, documentary film scores, production for other artists, and two albums with the singer/songwriter duo Falden Rysgaard, and a spoken-word project with Nye Mennesker. “Follow” marks the first chapter in an intimate, spiritual and meditative sound universe leading up to Falnoa’s upcoming debut album. On “Follow,” Ann provides gentle vocals that weave together with Hang (a unique Swiss instrument), Udo and subtle electronic textures, along with piano (Carol Leander), cello (Soma Allpass) and kor (Frode Danielsen).

Quoting the press release for the single: “The seed for 'Follow' was sown during a retreat with spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle. When the session opened with the sound of Tibetan tingsha cymbals, Ann experienced a deep sense of expansion and timelessness – a realization that nothing perishes, and that a single tone can carry an entire world of tranquility and transformation. Rooted in this experience, the track invites the listener into a dreamlike space.”

Very relaxed and melodic with a gently hypnotic beat, “Follow” is a beautiful antidote for the stress and difficulties in our world these days. It provides seven minutes of peace and relaxation - music to get very pleasantly lost in. I’ve had it on “repeat” for about an hour, and I feel much more relaxed and optimistic. I can’t wait for the album!

“Follow” will be released on October 23, 2026 and can be pre-saved at https://orcd.co/follow-. More links will be added on the release date.
