"Blue Skies" is the first of four solo piano singles released during the first half of 2023 by award-winning pianist/composer Heidi Breyer. The piece began as an arrangement of the hymn, "Water's End," and quickly took on a life of its own. Light and gently optimistic, the piece beautifully expresses the warmth of a day with sunny blue skies and the time to kick back and savor the inner peace those cloudless skies can bring (we don't have enough of them here on the Oregon Coast!). Classically-trained in England, Heidi's roots are clearly indicated in this beautiful piece, as is her graceful signature style. I'm really looking forward to reviewing the other three singles over the next couple of weeks!
