"The Turning" is the fourth solo piano single released in 2023 by pianist/composer Heidi Breyer. Calling it "An introspective piano solo for your soul," Heidi explains the inspiration for the music:

"There's one certainty in life...just when you think that everything is going in a predictable direction, an invisible force pushes you to take an unexpected turn and just like Robert Frost said 'it makes all the difference.'"

Quietly thoughtful and reflective, the music is so soothing and peaceful that it's making me really sleepy as I write this - definitely a compliment for this kind of music! A classically-trained pianist in Europe, Heidi has expressive and often dazzling playing chops as well as the sensitivity to know when it's the most effective to keep the music simple and direct, which she does with this piece.
