“Sunset at Shaw’s Cove” is the second in a series of three piano-based singles by Janice Lacy being released in April, May and July. On this one, Janice is joined by Jill Haley on English horn and Eugene Friesen on cello along with production by Tom Eaton and Will Ackerman. Quoting Janice Lacy:

“I live in a coastal community in Southern California where there are many coves where people often go to watch the sun set over the ocean. This song is about experiencing a peaceful yet dramatic, beautiful sunset at Shaws Cove.”

Incredibly soothing and peaceful, the piece begins with a solo piano introduction before the cello and English horn enter, adding subtle tonal colors and textures. Watching the sun gradually disappear into the ocean can be a profoundly moving experience, and this piece captures that feeling beautifully.
