Review by Kathy Parsons
“Adios Amor (Goodbye My Love)” is Jim Ottaway’s third cover single, and what a beauty it is! An international award-winning artist who composes and records all of his music in his home studio on the Gold Coast of Australia, twelve of Jim’s albums have received nominations for world-wide music awards. “Adios Amor (Goodbye My Love)” was composed by Tom Springfield and Norman Newell. The original version was recorded by Jose Feliciano in 1967 and was a big hit in Australia in early 1969. The British band, The Casuals, also released a version of the song in 1968. Jim prefers to stay true to the original recordings, but on this one, he added some modern drums, a beefier bass-line and a new string arrangement as well as extending the length of the track a bit. It’s a beautiful arrangement suitable for a romantic slow dance, singing along with (if you remember the lyrics!), or for pure musical enjoyment. Like Jim’s other cover singles, he doesn’t plan to include this one on a future album, so download or stream a copy and let the music take you away!

“Adios Amor (Goodbye My Love)” is available to download and stream on Amazon and Apple Music/iTunes as well as on many streaming platforms including Spotify and Pandora. Highly recommended!
