Review by Kathy Parsons
"Reflection #5 - Immersion" is one of a selection of singles from pianist/composer Joe Kenney's upcoming solo piano album. The album, which will be released in the fall of 2021, is a series of new age and classical solo piano improvisations that are reflections on points of growth on which Kenney is meditating. His previous album, Forth, was released in the fall of 2020 and was awarded a bronze medal from the Global Music Awards. A graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a BM in piano performance, Joe Kenney is a versatile artist whose music is "reflective of a cohesive blending of classical music theory, jazz fusion, rock, soul, and hip-hop idioms. Joe has garnered praise for both his original compositions and cover arrangements." (quoting Joe's website.)

"Reflection #5 - Immersion" begins very quietly and continues in a calm and reflective style that feels (to me) much like being lost in thought or becoming completely "immersed" in a daydream or simply allowing the music to create itself as it flows from the soul and out through fingers. Warm, soothing and very beautiful, I can't wait to hear the rest of the album!

"Reflection #5 - Immersion" is available from Amazon, Apple/iTunes and streaming sites such as Spotify. Highly recommended!
