"Mystical Awakening" is a two-song EP by Kirtan Lounge featuring Ananta Govinda and Gopi Kallayil. Available in several different formats (singles, limited edition vinyl records, music video with the lyrics to follow along in English and Sanskrit, and as an NFT release), the album also features Paulette Penzvalto (vocals), Scott Page (sax), Jared May (bass), Ronnie Ray (flute and Tibetan style throat singing) and Ben Leinbach (drums and mixing).

The "A Side," is "Mystical Awakening - Musical Exploration of Bhagavad Gita." The song is very relaxed and features several popular stanzas from the scripture. Gently rhythmic, the soothing vocals, sax, bass, and percussion are the perfect antidote to the stressful times we have been experiencing worldwide. Paulette Penzvalto pronounces the prayers in Latin that translate to "Do not fear," one of the Bhagavad Gita prayers. This 7 1/2 minute track can ease the mind and uplift the spirit as well as offer a beautiful song.

The "B Side" is "Gayatri Mantra for Peace." This highly-revered mantra from the Rig Veda is dedicated to Savitr, also known as Gāyatrī, the Goddess of the Vedic Mantra. It is a widely-known mantra that glorifies the Goddess and the feminine divine in nature and within each of us. Also very calming and soothing with an infectious rhythm, it's a lovely and reassuring reminder of the beauty all around and within us as well as a much-needed call for peace.

"Mystical Awakening" is "soul music" as well as music to uplift the spirit. Be sure to watch the music videos to get a full experience of the music and to translate the lyrics. The music is also available from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and streaming sites such as Spotify.
