Review by Kathy Parsons
"Slow Burn" is a smooth-jazz single from pianist/composer extraordinaire Michael Dulin - one of my all-time favorite artists! Orchestrated and driven by an infectious groove, this is Dulin at his light-hearted best. The beginning of the piece is slow, subtle and gently bittersweet. As the percussion and bass come in, an easy-going groove starts to build. More instruments are added (horns and strings mostly), while the piano stays in the lead. A little past the half-way point, the piece takes on a funkier style, making it impossible to sit still! Strings come in behind the piano, cooling it off a bit before gathering energy to a powerful conclusion.

A highly-trained classical pianist and Juilliard graduate, Michael is one of the most versatile musicians on the planet and has performed classical music at an international competition level, toured with The Temptations and was a regular with a local (Birmingham, AL) big band for many years - to name a few. His very diverse musical background has assimilated into his own distinctive playing and composing styles, giving him a unique voice. Great stuff!

"Slow Burn" is available from www.MichaelDulin.com, Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and many streaming platforms including Spotify and Pandora. Don't miss it!
