Review by Kathy Parsons
Piano for the Holidays is a very enjoyable collection of solo piano interpretations of fourteen Christmas favorites. The arrangements are strong and very enjoyable, and are also quite traditional in that they don’t deviate much from the melodies as we usually hear them. It’s a very straightforward and sincere album without a lot of flash and bravado - just good, uncluttered arrangements. This would be a great album to have playing during a holiday meal or while opening gifts with the family. Titles include “The First Noel,” “Jingle Bells,” “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” and “Silent Night” - pretty much all the standard favorites. “Piano For the Holidays” is available from michaelloonan.com.
