I'm not sure which I found the most intriguing - the artist name Monster Taxi or the title of the single, "A Walking Stranger" - but I'm really glad I let my curiosity get the better of me! This is one fascinating piece of electronic music and I think the music video for it sends it into masterpiece territory. The music is relaxing yet has a compelling beat; is mysterious but not threatening; and is truly transporting to places in the imagination if you allow it to take you there. I really like that I can't put this music into one category other than electronic instrumental, but it's so much more than just that. The first couple of times I listened to the track, I watched the video at the same time. It's an amazing montage of nature and technology, innocence and fast-paced life, quiet openness and big city energy. The videography is jaw-droppingly gorgeous even when the subject being videoed isn't. The common thread throughout the video is a the figure from the cover artwork, a human-sized raven dressed in black, walking though a cornfield carrying a scythe. A warning? I'm sure people will interpret it in several different ways, but that's one of the wonders of art. And "A Walking Stranger" is definitely art!
"A Walking Stranger" is available from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and streaming sites including Spotify. You can watch the video
here. I give this single a very resounding "WOW!!!"
