Review by Kathy Parsons
"We Will Tell the Stories" is the first single from Neil Patton's new album, The Small Hours (release date is October 18, 2024). A heartfelt piano solo, Neil explains the inspiration for the piece:

"For those who wait in vigil around a loved one, waiting for that final goodbye. A friend's dying father asked to be sure if she knew where the old diaries and photos were kept.
She assured him that they would carry on and tell the stories."

One of my favorite pianist/composers, Neil expresses the wide-ranging mix of emotions that go with such an experience with grace and sensitivity. From the beautiful cover artwork by Neil's daughter, Corrie Patton (https://www.corriepattonillustrates.com/), to the depth of understanding in the music, "We Will Tell the Stories" is a wonderful preview of the album as well as an outstanding piece on its own.

"We Will Tell the Stories" is available for pre-saves on Spotify now. More links will be added on the release date. Very highly recommended!
