“Drift In Blue” is a dreamy, jazzy and thoroughly enjoyable new single from pianist/composer/multi-instrumentalist Peter Calandra. As usual, this piece doesn’t fit neatly into one category or genre of music. There are jazz elements, ambient passages, electronics, keyboards (including piano), and more - in other words, pure Peter Calandra! It begins with a floating ambient intro before the percussion, bass, piano and keyboards enter with a smooth, easy melody and catchy beat. The next segment of the piece returns to a more ambient style before becoming rhythmic and melodic again. The last section gives the piano the spotlight, along with voices, percussion and lots of sparkling background instrumentation. It’s another great single from Peter!
