"Chorean" is a solo piano tribute to the late jazz pianist, Chick Corea, and is a single release from Rebecca Harrold's upcoming album, Tree of Life. Recorded and produced at Will Ackerman's Imaginary Road Studio, this addictive piece is propelled by a compelling rhythmic energy from the bass of the piano and maintains a playful groove from the first notes to the last. Rebecca Harrold refers to the piece as a "bass-ostinato funk tune" and I think that describes it exceptionally well and puts it into its own jazz sub-category! Chick Corea was a true original, and so is this tribute to him. Highly recommended!
