Review by Kathy Parsons
Got My Eye On You, Santa is a jazzy little novelty Christmas single composed by Anne Leighton and Roberta Piket who also performs on Hammond B3 organ, Fender Rhodes and a Steinway piano. Piket recently won Downbeat’s Best Organist award and also worked as Music Director for this production. Leighton wanted mainly keyboards, drums, and sleigh bells on this song, “because I believe in the importance of rhythm to excite people in their music listening.” Vocals are performed mostly by Jody Quine with the Big Mr. C (Dan Berggren) providing some bass harmonies and “ho-ho-ho’s.” The lyrics remind me just a bit of an updated take on “Santa Baby” with Quine flirting shamelessly with Santa and thanking him for the diamonds, gold and pearls, asking if she can sit on his lap. “Your beard and red suit drive me wild.” It’s cute, catchy and sure to bring a smile.

Got My Eye On You, Santa is available on Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby and many of the streaming sites.
