Review by Kathy Parsons
"Flour" is a solo piano single from pianist/composer Tim Neumark, an artist I've been reviewing since his debut album, Biography, back in 2007. I've also been proof-reading all of Tim's sheet music, which is usually easy-going and optimistic. Tim sent me the sheet music for "Flour" to proof a few weeks ago, and I was kind of shocked by the dramatic change in mood - to the point that I emailed him and asked him if everything was okay. He explained that his next album will be darker and more emotional, reflecting on events in his life that go back as far as 30 years, not necessarily anything that is happening now. I'm not sure what the title "Flour" refers to, but it will be interesting to see what the other titles are!

"Flour" has a very strong energy and is dark and mysterious in some passages, much quieter and sadder in others - something of an emotional roller coaster, as life sometimes is. It's a fascinating piece and I can't wait to hear more of the album! Sheet music is also available to download from Tim's website.

"Flour" is available digitally from Tim's website, Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and streaming platforms including Spotify. Don't miss it!
