"Silent Night" is a beautiful solo piano single by Tom Bajoras. An arrangement of the traditional Christmas carol, the piece expresses the feelings of peace, quiet and contentment of the original song without a literal restatement of the melody. Also inspired by photos of The Northern Lights, the music was composed entirely in Tom's head before he sat down to play it on the piano. Within the piece, Tom utilized two musical ideas that he has always been attracted to - B Lydian mode and 7/4 meter. The piece is relaxed and uncomplicated at the beginning, becoming somewhat more intricate as it develops (without losing the suggestion of moonlit tranquility), returning to the gentle quiet to the end.
