Review by Kathy Parsons
“On a Chance” is the companion sheet music for Chris Nole’s 2025 solo piano (mostly!) single with the same title. (The recording has some synth washes in the background that are not included in the sheet music.) The piece is not flashy, but has a warm, optimistic feeling that makes it a lot of fun to play. Most of the left hand has a steady back and forth rhythm with alternating eighth notes while the right hand is somewhat more syncopated. Pianists and piano students at an upper-intermediate playing level should have no trouble mastering this charming and uplifting piece. There is also a YouTube video that adds visuals to the music!

“On a Chance” is written in the key of Eb (three flats), and there are no reaches of more than an octave.

The sheet music is available to download from Chris’ website as well as from SheetMusicPlus and SheetMusicDirect. Suitable for pianists at any age and very highly recommended! The recording is also reviewed on MainlyPiano.com.
