Dan Chadburn's Always: Sheet Music for Solo Piano is the companion sheet music collection for Dan's 2022 solo piano recording, Always. Already one of my favorite albums of the year, I have really been looking forward to the sheet music! The music was transcribed by John Zechiel and Dan Chadburn, ensuring that the sheet music is as close to the original recordings as possible. The book includes all twelve pieces from the recording plus a bonus version of "Minuet," which was transposed from the original key of Db to the much easier key of C - I'm sure many of Dan's fans will thank him for that! Most of the pieces in the book are reflective, emotional and very beautiful, making this a very satisfying collection to just sit and play. Dan is an excellent pianist, so although the music is not overly difficult, I would put most of the pieces at an upper-intermediate to early-advanced playing level. Dan also has large hands with a wide reach, but I found it easy to put most of the keys I couldn't reach with one hand over onto the other, so that's a very do-able alternative if you can't reach a tenth.

The printed books are spiral-bound (yea!!!) and have a clear plastic cover over the paper cover to keep it looking good for a long time. The music is printed on a bright white medium-weight paper stock that is very easy to read as well as to turn pages. Very roomy and well-spaced, it's a beautiful book to look at as well as to play! Pedal markings are throughout, and many of the pieces have the dates that the music was created and a few indicate what inspired the music. There is also an "About the artist..." page and a page with album credits and a variety of links for where you can find Dan's music.

The sheet music is available as a printed book, a downloadable PDF book and as individual downloadable pieces from Dan's website. This is a wonderful collection and I recommend it very highly!
