The Vigil solo piano songbook is the companion sheet music book to David Nevue's 1999 album by the same name. Most, if not all, of the sheet music for this album has been available for a long time, but these scores have been revised to match the formatting for David's more recent sheet music and to correct any errors in the previous transcriptions. The new transcriptions were done by Rebecca Oswald and proofed by me, assuring that the sheet music matches the recording as closely as possible. Some of the music from The Vigil was among my favorite pieces to work on with piano students - "The Vigil," "Psalm 77," "Home", etc. - and I found that students really loved working on them (I've retired from teaching).

This songbook is available only from Amazon and is printed "on demand" by them. The "perfect binding" requires a little breaking in to stay open on the piano, but most non-spiral-bound books do. The scores are very well-spaced and easy to read. Pedaling suggestions, metronome settings, and extensive dynamics and tempo changes are clear and easy to understand. Most of the fifteen pieces are at an upper-intermediate playing level and suitable for any age group. This is a beautiful book and one that is interesting and fun to play from cover to cover.
