The Piano Compositions of Edmond Paul Nicodemi is a collection of twelve intermediate-level piano solos composed by Edmond Paul Nicodemi. The book is available as a printed book as well as a download-able e-book on Amazon. The book contains the six pieces from Ed’s 2026 EP, Rain Circle, and six pieces from other albums. The sheet music was transcribed by Federico Zegarra, one of Ed’s former students, and I proof-read the scores, ensuring that the sheet music is as close to the recordings as is possible. There is a very nice variety in the music, both in styles and moods, and I found the pieces very enjoyable to play. The book also includes a dedication page, a “Meet Edmond Paul Nicodemi” page that includes links to many sites that feature Ed’s music, some photos, quotes from some of the reviews of Ed’s recordings, and a page of “Special Thanks.” I’ve been reviewing Ed’s music since his 2004 Parallel Solitudes album, so it’s really nice to have some of his sheet music now, too!

The pieces range from 2 pages to 7 1/2 pages, and there are only a few reaches of more than an octave. The sheet music is well-spaced and easy to read. There isn’t any phrasing, pedaling or fingering marked, but since the book is intended for adult pianists, that shouldn’t be an issue. Teachers and players can mark any of those things so that they fit their own needs. I’ve always enjoyed Edmond Paul Nicodemi’s music and am very happy to be able to play it myself now, too!
