Advanced Piano Solos, Complete Christmas Edition is a collection Christmas music arranged by Tom Roed, my favorite arranger of pop, jazz, and Christmas music. I have used these arrangements with my advancing students for many years, and students love them because they are full and fun to play. The music ranges from classical to pop to blues and boogie, giving a wide variety of playing styles and moods. There is also a nice assortment of sacred as well as pop songs, making it a collection suitable for many occasions. All of these arrangements are also in Roed’s “Christmas Encyclopedia,” which includes about twice as many songs - probably more bang for the buck there - but this is a great book, too. My favorites are “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer,” “O Holy Night,” “Away In a Manger,” and “What Child Is This?” Most of the arrangements are intermediate to early-advanced. Recommended!
