Jim Morrison - A Life From Beginning to End

Review by Kathy Parsons
The Doors were one of my favorite bands when I was in high school and I was lucky enough to see them play live in Berkeley, CA sometime in the later 1960s. Some of Jim Morrison's antics were legendary - both on and off the stage - but I loved their sound and many of their songs. Their lyrics were often darkly poetic and made a very strong impression on my teenage psyche, so it came as a painful shock when Morrison died at the age of 27. The Hourly History series of books are designed to be read in about an hour, so they can't get into real depth or detail, but they are well-written and give an interesting overview of the lives of people from many different walks of life. I really enjoyed reading Morrison's bio and learned some things about him that I didn't know before. The full series of books from Hourly History are available from Amazon.
