Still is the seventeenth release from pianist/composer (and much more!) Ann Sweeten. In a career spanning nearly thirty years, Ann has developed a style that blends contemporary classical, jazz, film scoring and new age genres to create a sound all her own. The ten original tracks on Still were composed over a two-year period and the recording was co-produced with Ann, Will Ackerman and Tom Eaton of Imaginary Road Studios. Along with Ann and her Steinway Model B baby grand piano, featured artists include Charlie Bisharat (violin), Nancy Rumbel (English horn), Premik Russell Tubbs (soprano sax and alto flute), Eugene Friesen (cello) and Richard Sebring (French horn). Very soothing and uplifting, this is music that allows you to listen deeply while being transported to a place far from the noise, confusion and stress of our current world - at least for a little while!

Quoting Ann Sweeten: "The idea for Still has meaning on many levels beginning with the fact that after all I’ve been through in Life and with my health struggles, I am still here, both as a Person and an Artist. The Music industry is not for the faint of heart and many are lost along the way, but I am grateful to be here, still composing and playing what I have to say, and thanking my fans who are listening still and others who will listen for the first time."

Still begins with "Distant Clouds," a beautiful piece that brings images of softly drifting white clouds moving gracefully across a bright blue sky. Charlie Bisharat (violin) and Nancy Rumbel (English horn) add their magic to the mix - a wonderful beginning! "Whispers of Spring" begins as an elegant piano solo before cello (Friesen) and sax (Tubbs) enter at about the half-way point - absolutely dreamy! The title track is a soothing trio for piano, English horn and cello - music to quiet the soul! A gentle waltz, "Ebony Light" flows like a soft-spoken dialogue between piano, violin and alto flute - very soulful! Quickly flowing broken chords on the piano suggest a flickering sparkle in "Waiting for Fireflies" while violin, cello and French horn add an elegant grace. "Heaven's Stardust" would be a wonderful lullaby for people of any age with its gentle flow and soothing ambience - a favorite! "Autumnal Breeze" is the only piano solo on this album and clearly demonstrates Ann's elegant piano touch. Quickly-flowing passages suggest the unpredictability of fall winds that carry just a touch of chill as they ruffle through the trees and grasses (as well as your hair!) - another favorite. The album comes to a peaceful close with "When Winter Comes," which features piano, English horn and cello - serenity set to music!

Still is available as a CD and/or a download from Ann Sweeten's website and Bandcamp; as a CD, to download or stream on Amazon; to stream or download from Apple Music/iTunes; and on streaming platforms including Spotify and Pandora. Don't miss it!
