Review by Kathy Parsons
“Desiree” is the second solo piano single recently released by pianist/composer David Glass. The piece is a studio improvisation based on a theme Glass had in mind before recording, and was recorded in one take - very impressive for an almost ten-minute piece that flows so beautifully and seamlessly. A classically-trained pianist from a very young age, Glass has been a prominent piano teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years. With playing chops that are beyond flawless and allow him to express whatever he wants at the piano, he is free to play from the heart and does an amazing of that on “Desiree.” Some passages are quieter, telling a simple, sometimes painful truth while others are expressed with a more turbulent passion. It’s a masterful work that deserves to be widely heard! Available from Amazon and CD Baby as well as YouTube, I very highly recommend it!
