Review by Kathy Parsons
"Ave Maria" is a new setting of the classic Latin prayer composed and performed by David Lanz and Kristin Amarie. There are two versions of this beautiful piece that have been released as singles - this one with Kristin Amarie's soaring vocals and full orchestration, and an instrumental version which I have also reviewed. This version was produced and orchestrated by Kurt Bestor and also features a choir and the voice of Luca Brugnoli of the Libera Boys Choir. It's a very stirring and inspiring recording, and is quite different from David Lanz's solo piano music. If you listen carefully, you can hear the piano, but it is Kristin Amarie's voice that is the "star" of this production. It's a fascinating blend of classical and contemporary stylings that support the Latin lyrics, and should attract a very diversified audience.

"Ave Maria" is available to stream or download from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes, and from many streaming platforms including Spotify. Check it out! Sheet music is available from SheetMusicDirect.com and SheetMusicPlus.com.
