“December Ayre” is a gorgeous single from David Lanz’s upcoming solo piano album. Like “Autumn Ayre,” this music is classic David Lanz - soulful, relaxed and very beautiful. Dreamy and bittersweet, the piece seems to anticipate the coming winter as well as the holidays, which can be very difficult for many people. The piece begins at the upper end of the piano keyboard, setting the “chilly” tone for the piece. David also makes great use of the atmospheric effects of the damper pedal to add to the icy feel of the music. It’s a very descriptive piece that overflows with emotion before a long fade-out to the end. I can’t wait for the album!
