"Awakenings Ensemble Instrumental Arrangement" is the first of sixteen orchestrations from David Michael Walsh's 2009 album, Castle of Dreams. Originally, Walsh's intention was to set his music and storyline to a ballet, but that goal has changed to orchestrating all of the tracks for a musical theater screen play. I reviewed the Castle of Dreams album back in 2011, so it's a lot of fun to see and hear this next phase of the project evolving. Sean A. Ryan is doing the orchestrations and David Walsh is in the process of finding vocalists who will sing the lyrics that tell the story the music is based on. "Awakenings" has a dreamy, slightly bittersweet feeling. The melody is beautiful and the piano can be heard throughout the piece. I can't wait to hear the next orchestration!
