Review by Kathy Parsons
"Reflection No. 1" is the first single to be released from Eric Chapelle's upcoming solo piano album. Performing Eric's original music is pianist Michelle Schumann. Warmly romantic in style, the piece is contemplative and dreamy, and Michelle's performance of the work is delicate and beautifully expressive. Performed on a Steinway Model D concert grand piano, the acoustics in the concert hall where "Reflection No. 1" was recorded are rich and resonant. Sheet music for this piece is also available.

Born in France, Eric Chapelle is a composer of orchestral, ensemble and vocal music as well as solo piano and piano with other instrumentation. He has released two albums (Our Time in 1998 and Across the Water in 2010) as well as a variety of singles, often combining his music with his own photography to tell a more complete story. The cover artwork for "Reflection No. 1" is a photo Eric took in 2018 at the Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, the source of the Sorgue River in Southern France.

Dr. Michelle Schumann serves as Professor of Music at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is a highly sought-after solo pianist and collaborative artist in Central, TX and throughout the US, Canada and Europe, and is also the Artistic Director of the Austin (TX) Chamber Music Center. She  received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2003 from The University of Texas at Austin and also holds a Young Artist Diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Performance Diploma from the Vienna Conservatory.

"Reflection No. 1" is available from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes, Spotify and other sites. I can't wait to hear more!
