Review by Kathy Parsons
"Works For Solo Piano: Nocturne No. 1" is a single release from an upcoming album called Works For Solo Piano composed by Eric Chapelle and performed by Michelle Schumann. Nocturnes are literally "night songs" and are usually on the soothing, peaceful side, as is this one. Eric Chapelle has released many albums with himself playing the piano and keyboards, but he has teamed up with Michelle Schumann for this project and her expressive playing really brings the music to life. Dr. Schumann has served as Artistic Director of the Austin Chamber Music Center in Texas since 2006. She received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin and also holds a Young Artist Diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Performance Diploma from the Vienna Conservatory.

Slow, fluid and very serene, Chapelle's "Nocturne" feels like the most pleasant of dreams and could also serve as a very sweet lullaby for kids of any age. Classically-styled with a contemporary sensibility, I can't wait to hear more music from this album!

"Works For Solo Piano: Nocturne No. 1" is available as a digital download or to stream from sites such as Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes, and Spotify. Sheet music is also available.
