“Rumi’s Truth” is the first single from pianist/composer Gary Schmidt’s upcoming EP titled “Times and Dreams.” Rumi was a 13th century Sufi poet whose writing Gary has always found to be inspiring and encouraging. The single was recorded on a Steinway piano in Frasier Hall at The University of Northern Colorado and was mastered by Tom Eaton at Sounds and Substance Studio. Gary did the cover artwork as well as composing and playing the piece.

The simple solo piano melody in “Rumi’s Truth” is supported by a gentle left-hand pattern and reflects on the simple truths Rumi was seeking in his writings, which are as relevant today as they were centuries ago.

“Rumi’s Truth”is available to stream and download on Amazon and Apple Music/iTunes as well as many streaming platforms including Spotify and Pandora. It’s a very beautiful piece and I can’t wait to hear more of Gary’s newest work!
