Review by Kathy Parsons
Rebirth is a beautiful single solo piano release by Spanish music producer/composer/pianist Juan Sanchez. Based in Barcelona, Sanchez started composing electronic instrumental music in 1999 and has been creating music for multimedia and sound libraries ever since. His latest project is releasing a series of neo-classical, ambient and new age piano singles with each recorded on a different piano and in a different recording studio so that each release has a unique sound.

On Rebirth, a flowing broken chord pattern on the left hand gently supports the right hand melody, which borders on ambient. Even though the piece is quiet and soothing, passages have a sense of urgency and of moving forward. I found this quote from Sanchez that explains the meaning behind the piece: “Sometimes you have to kind of die inside in order to rise from your own ashes and believe in yourself and love yourself to become a new person.”

Rebirth is available from Amazon, iTunes and CD Baby as well as the various streaming platforms. It’s a beauty!
