Review by Kathy Parsons
Attuning to Oneness is the follow-up to Paradiso and Rasamayi’s 2011 multi-award-winning release, 3rd Eye Rising. Paradiso and Rasamayi are sound healing practitioners who recorded each track with the intention to facilitate individual and global evolution through the healing power of sound. Paradiso is a self-trained master didjeridoo artist and an internationally renowned “ambassador of sacred sound.” His soulmate, Rasamayi, “is a singing bowl master alchemist and chanteuse who draws on many past lives’ memories of healing with crystals and sacred sound.” In addition to their music and sound healing partnership, they are “full body channels for the Masters, Angels and Guides who create vibration prescriptions in musical form to support the evolution of Earth and the ascension of humanity.” (Quoted from the liner notes of the CD.) Instrumentation includes didjeridoo, Alchemy crystal singing bowls, seed mantra/chanting, keyboard, gong, shamanic percussion, and crystal merkaba. I have to admit that this is a bit out of my normal comfort zone since I generally review piano recordings, but the music is definitely a different and interesting listening experience. I especially enjoy Rasamayi’s clear, pure voice juxtaposed with the other-worldly sounds of the didjeridoo and singing bowls. Some of the pieces are more energetic with a distinct rhythm while others are much more ambient and floating. The music is recommended for meditation, relaxation, massage, and all healing modalities although a couple of the pieces in the middle of the album go very dark with an eerie, almost nightmarish quality. I’m sure the artists were being very protective of their audience, but I was surprised at the warning on the album cover to not “drive or operate heavy machinery while listening to this recording.” I have a little trouble picturing someone operating a backhoe while listening to this (or any!) music, but I heeded the warning and listened from the comfort and safety of my office chair.

If you enjoyed 3rd Eye Rising, you will undoubtedly enjoy and benefit from Attuning to Oneness as well. It is available from 5thelementmusic.com, Amazon, iTunes and CD Baby.
