"Shades of Life" is a smooth yet upbeat jazz single from Pete Calandra and Straight Up that features Pete on electric piano, organ and synthesizers (he also composed the piece) along with Antonio Hart on soprano sax, Tom Barney on bass guitar, Eric Valentine on drums and Ricky Martinez on percussion. Warm and breezy throughout, Hart and his sax crank up the energy level in the middle of the piece without losing the easy-going vibe. It's a great accompaniment for the good times and a mood-lifter for the not-so-good ones. As usual, Pete and company do not disappoint!
