Review by Kathy Parsons
"Mars Dawn" is the second single from guitarist/composer Shambhu's upcoming (summer 2022) EP, Life Passage, and takes us on a relaxing and inspiring journey to The Red Planet. Shambhu's acoustic guitars and e-pads are enhanced with strings (Nathaniel Wolkstein) and EWI / French horn (Premik Russell Tubbs). More orchestrated than many of Shambhu's recordings, the soothing and pensive guitar floats on a peaceful cloud of sounds, creating a dreamy mood and freeing your imagination. Shambhu has been one of my favorite guitarists since I started reviewing his music back in 2010, and "Mars Dawn" is a perfect example of why.

Quoting Shambhu: "You're on the first journey to Mars, the great Red Planet. Imagine how you're feeling; excited about the journey but anxious about what awaits. Humanity's dreams fly with you. These feelings are stirring and dancing inside your mind and heart as you imagine a journey and voyage into a future unknown."

The first two singles from Life Passage are both incredible (the first was the title track)! "Mars Dawn" is available from Bandcamp, Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and streaming sites such as Spotify. Very highly recommended!
