Review by Kathy Parsons
“Confrontation With Fate” is a new solo piano single by Tim Neumark. The piece is Tim’s arrangement of the second movement of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 (Op. 64), originally composed in 1888 (obviously) for a full orchestra. The 8-minute piece expresses a wide range of moods and emotions, from slow and dark to poignant and more flowing to ominous to powerful, allowing Neumark to very effectively tell his story with a palette of varying musical colors. It’s a beautiful piece and Tim’s arrangement shows a different side of his musical creativity that I’d like to see more of!

“Confrontation With Fate” is available to download from timneumark.com, Amazon, iTunes/Apple Music, and is also available to stream from sites like Spotify. The sheet music is available from Tim’s website and is very enjoyable to play!
