Review by Kathy Parsons
Todd Mosby's "An Olde Farewell" is a soulful guitar and ensemble arrangement of "Auld Lang Syne," a traditional holiday classic with a very long and colorful history. In addition to Mosby's electric and acoustic guitars, Lola Kristine adds her vocals (no lyrics) along with Steve Davis on drums and Ben Coen on acoustic bass. Slow and open with an easy swaying rhythm, this arrangement brings together jazz, new age and fusion genres to give the song a brand new yet very familiar feeling. Quoting Mosby on why he chose this song: “The melody has a feeling of timelessness which lends itself into interesting areas of reharmonization, development and improvisational concepts.” It's a wonderful arrangement and a recording that will add a bit of musical magic to the holidays!

"An Olde Farewell" is available from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and streaming sites such as Spotify.
