Here Comes the Sun is the companion songbook to David Lanz’s 2011 CD release by the same name. All ten songs from the album are included - eight of Lanz’s arrangements of Beatles songs and two originals. The book also includes a forward by David Lanz explaining the influence The Beatles had on his own music and the inspiration for his tribute piece, “Sir George,” which is the concluding track on the album and the last piece in the book. Because most of the music was arranged for ensemble, the sheet music isn’t note-for-note what Lanz was playing, but a synthesis of all the parts arranged for solo piano. I was very honored to be asked to help out in this process, and am very happy with how the book turned out. The print is large and roomy, making it very easy to read. The songs are not what I would call difficult, but some have tricky passages, reaches of a tenth, and a few are quite long. Early-advanced pianists shouldn’t have trouble with any of the songs, and upper-intermediate players should be able to handle the less complicated pieces. Efforts were made to suggest alternatives for pianists with smaller hands so that they could also enjoy the pieces with big reaches. This is an excellent collection, and I highly recommend it! It is available from
