November is the companion sheet music book for Doug Hammer's 2024 album by the same name. All thirteen piano solos from the album are included, transcribed by Doug and proof-read by me, so I can safely say that the sheet music is as close of a match to the recordings as is possible. Composed over a three-year period, the music takes us through the month of November in New England, as the days grow darker and colder and the first snow falls. It also includes the welcome surprise of a warm Indian Summer before winter sets in. Most of the tracks on November are the quieter, more pensive side, but the music intensifies on several pieces, bringing a very nice variety to the music. Most of the pieces are three pages or less and since most of the music is slow and open, this sheet music is easier to play than some of Doug's other songbooks. Colorful and very expressive, all thirteen pieces are a joy to play.

The sheet music itself is well-spaced and easy to read. Playing instructions are very clear and include metronome settings. There are a few reaches of more than an octave, but not many. Doug and I went through and rated all of the pieces for difficulty levels and decided that three are easy, six are intermediate, and four are more challenging - something for everyone!
