The A Place Beyond songbook is the companion sheet music book for James Michael Stevens' 2023 solo piano album by the same name. The ten original pieces from the album were written out by the composer before recording and then followed during the recording process, so the scores are as accurate to the recordings as is possible. One of the most prolific composers ever, Dr. Stevens currently has more than 7200 items listed on SheetMusicPlus.com! He is also the Dean of the The School of Music at Welch College in Gallatin, TN.

The ten songs included in this songbook are all relatively easy. Each piece is three pages long and most of them are composed in uncomplicated key signatures. Rhythms are straight-forward and most of the music is at a relaxed tempo, making the music a pleasure for both the pianist and the listener! Most pianists at an intermediate playing level should be able to master this music and more advanced players should be able to sight-read most of the pieces with relative ease. James Michael Stevens' music is often based on romance and/or the beauty of nature, so it is warm and uplifting to play as well as to listen to!
