“Blackbird Returning” is the third single from pianist/composer Alexis Ffrench’s upcoming album, 24. The album is designed to be a musical companion to the regularity of everyday life and consists of a series of twenty-four pieces with one for each hour of the day. “Blackbird Returning” is track sixteen, putting it near evening. Track three on the album (also a single) is “Blackbird Rising,” which includes strings with Ffrench’s piano. “Blackbird Returning” is very similar, but is solo piano; both are warmly uplifting and very beautiful. I can’t wait to hear the whole album!
