“Blackbird Rising” is a beautiful single from Alexis Ffrench’s upcoming album, 24, which will be released digitally on October 2, 2026. The album is a musical chronicle of a single day with a piece for each of the twenty-four hours. “Blackbird Rising” is track three and features Ffrench on piano accompanied by strings that add a warm, cinematic touch. Ffrench has composed several pieces about birds and their songs on previous albums, plus the two on 24. Quoting the composer:
