"The Edge" is Irish composer/pianist/keyboardist Eamonn Karran's piece for the myndstream Summer Song Flight collection. The collection also includes one piece each from Carl Borden, Chris Haugen, Michael Whalen, Michelle Qureshi and Ryan Judd - a wonderful project!

Eamonn Karran has released five solo albums to date on the Real Music and myndstream labels. He refers to his music as “traditional Celtic music with a modern twist,” blending flowing piano melodies with electronic instrumentation. A deeply spiritual person, Karran often travels to the local countryside to connect with the earth and to draw inspiration from nature and the sounds it creates. His goal is to create music that will heal and enhance the physical and spiritual well-being of others, but his music is also excellent for pure listening pleasure.

"The Edge" has a simple, peaceful piano melody enhanced with atmospheric keyboard sounds, strings and other orchestral instruments, traditional Celtic instruments, and voice. Karran describes is as "a composition shaped around grief and loss, a reflection of one of our most painful emotions. It depicts despair but also hope, interweaving shades of darkness and light through soft piano melodies and sweeping synth textures." It's a hauntingly beautiful piece that comforts like a warm musical hug.

"The Edge" is available on its own or as part of the myndstream Summer Flight collection from myndstream, Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes, Spotify and other sites. I highly recommend both!
